Rio Bosque Park: Boudoir Photography Trail in El Paso, TX

Introduction

Las Cruces, NM, is a treasure trove of trails perfect for both hiking enthusiasts and photography lovers. In this series, I will review local trails, focusing on their ease of hiking and the number of excellent boudoir shoot locations they offer. My goal is to highlight why these trails are ideal for capturing stunning boudoir photography and why you should consider hiring me to guide you through these beautiful landscapes.

Although this location is in El Paso, TX, it is still worth mentioning in this series. Maybe I’ll start a new series later for places in El Paso.

Trail Name: Rio Bosque Park

  • Location: 10716 Socorro Rd., El Paso, TX 79927
  • Length: 2 miles
  • Difficulty: Very easy, perfect for beginners.
  • Trail Type: Loop
  • Elevation Gain: ~6 feet

Hiking Trail Ease

  • My Rating: This is a trail I would recommend to new hikers.
  • My Comments: This trail is easy to hike, but there are some intersecting paths. Watch the signs to make sure you don’t end up hiking farther than you planned. The trail is fairly well maintained with some branches hanging low enough that I had to duck under them. There were a lot of birds everywhere. I see a hawk almost every time I go and plenty of pigeons with some song birds and aquatic birds mixed in. There isn’t much water in the summer but the canals through the park always have enough water for bullfrogs and crawfish to be seen near the banks. If you go be sure to bring sun screen and bug spray. Parts of the trail have no cover, and the mosquitos can be irritating when you’re walking near the canals,

Boudoir Photography Potential

  • Number of Shoot Locations: There a lot of beautiful locations on the trail with all of the plants that are growing near the canals. This place offers an almost fairy-like feeling as you’re crouching down to walk through the low hanging branches. I love the benches as a place to pose and there are places to get in the water if your client/model is daring enough.
  • When to go: I love morning and evening light here, but you could go any time of day and find a good place to take photos. If you go on the weekends you are more likely to see other people on the trails especially people with big cameras looking for birds.

Conclusion

Exploring the trails of El Paso, TX, offers not only a fulfilling hiking experience but also incredible opportunities for boudoir photography. With breathtaking landscapes and unique features, these trails provide the perfect backdrop for intimate and empowering photo sessions.
